Heraklion, Greece, July 7, 2010 – Proximity marketing system manufacturers Bluevibe Ltd., have just announced the release of ‘Bluevibe@Home’, a Windows application that turns regular PCs (with Bluetooth connectivity) into Internet Access Points via Bluetooth.Mobile Phones located in Bluetooth range of these PCs can access the Mobile Internet, using a custom-built mobile browser that works similarly to browsers on PCs. The mobile browser application, Bluevibe Mobile already numbers over 200.000 downloads, and is available from the GetJar Mobile App Store.
The functionality has been available through the company’s professional Proximity Marketing System (Bluevibe) since its version 2.0, and is now being made accessible to the general public, due to public demand, as a Windows application, that works with most Bluetooth dongles in the market, on the most popular Operating System, with support for all its recent versions (Windows XP, Windows Vista 32-bit + 64-bit and Windows 7 32-bit + 64-bit ).
The application installs on PCs seamlessly and then sets up a local Bluetooth network in which it broadcasts the broadband network available to the PC, forming an Internet Access Points for all nearby bluetooth-enabled mobile phones, with no need for WiFi support.
